24 November 2021, CUFE Business School held the 11thSession of the 2021 CUFE Business School Distinct Academic Forum.Professor Kenneth S. Law, the Chairman in Department of Management at The Chinese University Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School, andDr. Jiang Yan, Associate Professorfrom Nanjing University,were invited to give the lecture sessions.Over 400 faculty members, postgraduate and undergraduate students from CUFE Business School were attended. Dr. Zhu Xiji, Associate Professor from Department of Organization and Human Resource Management hosted the forum.
Dr. JiangYan’smain research fields include leadership, socialization of new employee organization and social innovation in organization. Dr Jiang had hosted 2 National Science Foundation research projects.Dr.Jiang’s research papers were published on top journals such asJournal of Organizational Behavior, Management and Organization Review, and Human Resource Management.
In the AM lecture session,Dr. Jiang introduced the complex models of mediation and regulation effects in the study, which specifically includes the role of mediation and regulation of mediation effects in the construction of theoretical models, the path analysis and basic principles of the model, and the basic processes and methods for testing the model.
Professor Law’s areas of expertise are research methodology, Human Resource Management and Management in Chinese Context. He has published many articles in leading research journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of International Business and Journal of Management. Professor Law has served as an associate editor of the Academy of Management Journal and as a senior editor of Management and Organization Review. He is currently serving in the editorial board of the Academy of Management Journal and as a consulting editor of the Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology. Professor Law received his PhD degree from The University of Iowa.
In the PM lecture session, Professor Law introduced the application of cross-level analysis methods to management research, specifically including the conceptual connotation of cross-level analysis, conditions of use, and analysis methods.
In the communication sessions, Professor Law and Dr. Jiang answered questions and discussed issues with faculty and students. The interaction had greatly promoted academic exchange.
