October 30, 2015, President of Shoko Chukin Bank and Guest Professor of CUFE Business School, Mr. Hideji Sugiyama and his colleagues visited CUFE. Vice President Li Junsheng received the guests. Director of the University International Office Zhang Xiaoyan, Director of East Asian Institute CaiCaishi, Party Branch Secretary of CUFE Business School GeJianxin attended the meeting. After the meeting, Mr. Hideji Sugiyama went to CUFE Business School and held a special presentation entitled "Sino Japanese SME Cooperation” to postgraduate students from CUFE Business School. The presentation was hosted by Party Branch Secretary of CUFE Business School GeJianxin.  

First of all, Mr. Hideji Sugiyama introduced the Shoko Chukin Bank and the history of friendshipwith CUFE. Then, Mr. Hideji Sugiyama made the presentation from the aspects of the importance of SME in economic structure,the necessity of the SME policy, SME finance issues and policy, the new development of SME, and the cooperation between Chinese and Japanese SMEs.Mr. Hideji Sugiyama emphasized the development of SMEs plays an important role in a country's economic development. The students were highly involved and raised questions on the common traits and differences in the development ofSMEs in China and Japan, Mr. Hideji Sugiyama answered the questionsseriously.The atmosphere was very active.

In his speech, Mr. Hideji Sugiyamastressed that Chinese President Xi Jinpingpointed out in "Sino Japanese Friendly Communication Conference” that the Sino Japanese peace and friendship and two countries’ cooperation is the common aspiration of the people and the trend of the times. Mr.Hideji Sugiyama believes that the promotion of SMEs in China and Japan has a very important significance. China should realize that the development ofSMEs is very important to the industrial structure upgrade. Japan's SMEs accumulated rich experiencein cost control, business management, legal facilities and other areas through decades of development, which is worth learning by the Chinese SMEs. As a professional financial institutionproviding financial services to SMEs, Shoko Chukin Bankwill make efforts to promote the development of Japanese funded SMEs in China and Chinese funded SMEs in Japan, and help the cooperation between SMEs in China and Japan, promote mutualexperience sharing and build win-win relationships in order to promote the development of SMEs and the economic development of the two countries. At the same time, Shoko Chukin Bank will try to work with the Banks in China and to strengthen cooperation, share experience, expand the scale of investments and loans to Chinese SMEs.

Through this presentation, it will help to develop the international perspective of our students, improve their ability of cross-cultural communication, and further deepen their understanding of the business strategy and organizational culture of the world famous Japanese financial enterprises.
