In order to motivate academic involvement and promote academic communication and collaboration between professors and students, CUFE Business School launched theDistinct Academic Forum series. The 1st session of the 2021 CUFE Business School Distinct Academic Forum was held on April 9, 2021. The keynote speaker of the 1st session was Professor Lin Song, Dean of CUFE Business School. The forum was hosted by Dr. Liu Wei. Over 60 faculty and students were attended.

The title of Professor Lin’s speech was Wealth and Health: Smog and Regional Entrepreneurship. This study applied provincial air pollution data and entrepreneurship data in China to analyze the negative impact of smog on entrepreneurship and the corresponding mechanism. Theresearch results indicated that the effects varied by region. The negative effects were stronger inregions with higher incomes or higher lung cancer rates.

The CUFE Business School Distinct Academic Forum series aimtopromote the partial Mission of the School“Contributing Management Knowledge”. The forum series focus onbusiness management subjects and the frontier theories in China’sbusiness management theory and practice development. The research achievements of the speeches integrate innovation points of view at home and abroad, andexplore solutions for social and economic development in China context.
