On May 6,2019, 35 teachers and students from the College of Management, TunghaiUniversity (THU) visited the Business School of Central University of Financeand Economics (CUFE) for scientific research and academic exchanges. ProfessorWang Ruihua, Dean of the CUFE Business School, Professor Ge Jianxin,PartySecretary of the CUFE Business School, and Professor Cai Caishi, Director of theCenter for East Asian Studies, met the guests and held talks onschool-to-school cooperation and exchanges.

Dean WangRuihua warmly welcomed the THU teachers and students. Then he gave a briefintroduction to the history, educational characteristics, and achievements intalent cultivation of CUFE and its Business School. He pointed out that theCUFE Business School has maintained close communication and cooperation withits counterparts in Taiwan in terms of academic and student exchanges. Thevisit of THU would promote educational and cultural exchanges and deepen thecross-strait friendship between the two schools. Professor Ge Jianxinintroduced the development of international exchange and cooperation programslaunched by the CUFE Business School. These programs, in accordance with CUFEarrangements, based on development strategies of the School, are designed to enhancecross-strait exchanges and cooperation between universities and build aplatform for students on both sides to learn from each other and communicatewith their peers. Professor Chen Jiawei and Wang Kaili from the College ofManagement, THU also shared the educational performance and distinctivedisciplines and majors of THU and its College of Management. As a first-classresearch university in Taiwan, the College of Management, THU well-posed tocooperate with the CUFE Business School with broad prospects for furthercooperation.

Mr. MatthewGillmouth, a lecturer from the CUFE Business School, hosted a workshop themedon “HR Management at Globally Active Chinese SOEs”for visiting students.The visiting students from THU had a lively discussion with their schoolmates currentlystudying in the CUFE Business School and their counterparts who returned fromTaiwan as exchange students at THU and jointly presented their discussion results.

Afterconcluding all exchange activities, the two sides posed for a group photo infront ofLong Ma Jing Shen(which literally means the towering spirit ofthe Chinese nation and the lofty aspirations of the new generation), a landmarkof CUFE. Teachers and students from THU expressed their appreciation to their counterpartsfrom the CUFE Business School and invited them to visit the College ofManagement, THU in the future. Based on a decade-long friendly partnership, thetwo schools were looking forward to ushering in a new chapter of friendship andcooperation.
