On January 17, 2018, the 12th CUFE Seminar on MBA Case-BasedTeaching was successfully held at the lecture theater of the MBA EducationCenter of Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE). The Seminar, co-sponsoredby the CUFE Business School, MBA Education Center, Graduate School, Office ofAcademic Affairs, Research Management Office, and Center for FacultyDevelopment, was attended by over 70 people, including teachers of MBA programsand the Business School and all staff from the MBA Education Center. WangRuihua, Dean of the Business School and Director of the MBA Education Center,presided over the Seminar.

Dean Wang Ruihua addressed the Seminar. He briefed participants onthe progress and achievements made by the Business School and MBA programs lastyear, and made a special mention of the Chinese Advanced Management EducationAccreditation (CAMEA) awarded to the School, making CUFE one of the 14thuniversities to pass the CAMEA, along with Renmin University of China and theUniversity of International Business and Economics, among 19 accreditedcolleges and universities in China. It also symbolizes that the CUFE MBAeducation has been elevated to an internationally and domestically advancedlevel. He also made a brief introduction to the achievements of MBA case-basedteaching. According to him, a total of six volumes of the proprietaryChinaBusiness Administration: Selected Caseshave been published, entailing 198special teaching cases, 13 of which have been selected into the national “Top100 Excellent Business Administration Cases.” As Wang went on, he expressed hisexpectations for ongoing improvement of case-based teaching, continuousincrease of case composition with higher quality, and promotion of theapplication of excellent cases to teaching practice with the vigorous supportof all departments and brother schools, which will drive the development of theCUFE MBA education.

Up to now, the CUFE Seminar on MBA Case-Based Teaching has enteredits 12th year. This year’s Seminar reviewed and concluded the progress made incase-based teaching in 2017, invited excellent teachers to share theirexperience in case composition, and launched the 13th Case-Based Teaching EssayContest.
