May 11th, 2015, Dean of Schoolof Management, Laurentian University Professor Stephen J. Havlovic visited CUFE Business School. The Secretary of Party General Branch, Professor Ge Jianxin received visitors.
First, on behalf of Professor Wang Ruihua and staff of Business School, Secretary Ge welcomed Dean Havlovic and his colleagues. Then, Dean Havlovic introduced student number, degree program, alumni work of Management School, Laurentian University, especially the 2+2、3+1 international program. Secretary Ge Jianxin made a brief introduction of history, students, disciplines and majors of Central University of Finance and Economics and Business School.
In 2009, Business School, CUFE and Management School, Laurentian University co-held a 3+1+1 program, in which three excellent students from Business School went to study in Laurentian University. Dean Havlovic said he would be happy to share his experience of running school and hoped the two schools would have more communication and cooperation. Secretary Ge said, it has been a tenet in Business School’s international communication work to makethebestofthebothsides and seek distinctivecooperative projects suited to current conditions; she expected more communication with Laurentian Management School.
Situated in Ontario, Canada and built in 1960, Laurentian University is one of the three bilingual education universities in the country. In this university, 35% of the students speak French, which provides more opportunities for students to communicate different cultures. Besides, Laurentian University sets up EAP (English for Academic Preparation) for international students and Co-operative Education, in which students can apply textbook knowledge into work and be more competitive in job hunting.
